Er wurde vor allem für seine Produktionen für Künstler und Rockbands wie <a href="Texas_(Band)" title="Texas (Band)">Texas</a>, <a href="The_Mission_(Band)" title="The Mission (Band)">The Mission</a>, <a href="Tears_for_Fears" title="Tears for Fears">Tears for Fears</a>, <a href="Robert_Plant" title="Robert Plant">Robert Plant</a> oder <a href="HIM" title="HIM">H.I.M.</a> bekannt. Tim Palmer, geboren 1962 in North Shields, begann seine Laufbahn zuerst als Musiker, entwickelte aber in den frühen 1980er Jahren schon bald seine besondere Begabung, erst als Assistent in den Utopia Studios in <a href="London" title="London">London</a>, später als unabhängiger Tontechniker durch die Arbeit am Mischpult für diverse internationale Musikgruppen und Solokünstler in <a href="Los_Angeles" title="Los Angeles">Los Angeles</a>.

Seit 1982 zeichnet er als Tontechniker und Musikproduzent für zahlreiche erfolgreiche Pop- und Rock-Alben verantwortlich, die hohe Chart-Platzierungen erreichten. Als graue Eminenz war er auch während der 1990er und 2000er Jahre ungebrochen aktiv. So betreute und produzierte er in dieser Zeit als Toningenieur und Produzent zahlreiche Alben von Künstlern und Bands wie <a href="Kajagoogoo" title="Kajagoogoo">Kajagoogoo</a>, The Mighty Lemon Drops, <a href="Tin_Machine" title="Tin Machine">Tin Machine</a>, <a href="Gene_Loves_Jezebel" title="Gene Loves Jezebel">Gene Loves Jezebel</a>, <a href="The_House_of_Love" title="The House of Love">The House of Love</a>, <a href="Ozzy_Osbourne" title="Ozzy Osbourne">Ozzy Osbourne</a>, <a href="Switchfoot" title="Switchfoot">Switchfoot</a>, <a href="Kane_(Band)" title="Kane (Band)">Kane</a> oder <a href="Blue_October" title="Blue October">Blue October</a>.
